Advising Community,
It would be extremely helpful if a concentration was noted when any student moves from
their current major in your area to Public Health. There are two concentrations under
this major and they happen to belong to two separate colleges - COEHD and COLFA.
Epidemiology and Disease Control (PUH - EPD) resides in COLFA and Health Promotions and
Behavioral Sciences (PUH - HPB) is in COEHD. Both colleges want a concentration noted at
the time of the change of major because issues are created when students are declared
without the concentration. Brian Cordeau, from OIR has been brought into some of these
conversations to help resolve these issues. I have mentioned to him that perhaps BANNER
could be programmed to not allow for the change of major to PUH unless a concentration is
selected at the same time. I believe that he will attempt to see if this is possible, but
until then, it would be extremely helpful if you could ask students their preference.
Please feel free to call any of us in LHS if there are any difficulties in making changes
to PUH.
Thanks very much everyone!
