Activity and Research Symposium (CARS) offers a platform to celebrate UTSA’s First-Gen

from all disciplines are encouraged to showcase their work through oral and/or visual
presentations. CARS welcomes diverse presentation formats including but not limited to
poster, performance, and art installation. Students have the opportunity to participate at
the Downtown campus on Tuesday, March 5th from 12PM – 3PM and/or the1604 campus on
Wednesday, March 6th from 10AM – 1PM. (marketing attached)
We ask for your support in sharing with your students, colleagues and networks in order to
yield first-generation student engagement. Specifically, we would appreciate your support
in sharing this on your unit listserv and encouraging advisors to recommend their students
to participate in this experience. Please note, this is not a judged competition and is
meant to act as a platform to celebrate and showcase what first-gen students are doing in
the classroom. Group or Individual submissions are encouraged from any academic
discipline.
