No. Don't unlink the courses. Just allow students who should be in linked sections the
option to enroll in standalone if topic is of their interest and not available in linked.

Tammy and Barbara,
Just for clarification, are you saying that we can unlink sections of AIS and WRC if the
AIS is the one they want, but the WRC isn't?
Thanks,
D

Subject: [Advising] Fall Orientation Scheduling Expectations
Good morning Academic Advising Team,
I wanted to send out a quick reminder to reiterate the point that Dr. Wyatt made during
her presentation in May at the Campus-wide Advising meeting regarding AIS, the focus has
shifted this fall orientation compared to previous fall orientations. We need to be more
concerned about getting the students in the 'right' AIS course rather than just
filling sections to capacity. If they are not registered for an AIS course in the fall,
we still need to put the FYE comment type and comment number that reflects why the student
is not enrolled in AIS. If they are wanting a topic and the section is closed, send
Kristi Johnson an email indicating the topic and section. This will be helpful in
determining what AIS topics will be offered in the Spring.
Attached is the updated Fall Orientation Scheduling Expectations. I have also placed a
copy on the Academic Advising I: drive in the Orientation 2016 folder.
For those students who have already completed the first orientation on June 6-8, you do
not need to go back and add the comments for the students who are not enrolled in AIS. If
we are unable to determine why they are not enrolled, then you may receive an individual
follow up email.
Thanks Everyone!
Barbara
