Good afternoon all,
There is a new feature in Degree Works. If you click on a still needed course, it will
bring up information about the course such as the description, pre-requisites, attributes
and also the course schedule.

You will notice that it also includes information for Spring 2017. We spoke to the
Registrar's Office and the University Scheduling Committee about releasing the
schedule earlier. They were okay with the Spring 2017 schedule being on Degree Works in
this way at this point in time. In September, we will discuss being able to continue to
have the future schedule in Degree Works when the department chairs have their next
meeting.
There was concern about students feeling that having this schedule out will promise
courses, when we all know they can change. When you meet with your students and check out
the Spring 2017 schedule, especially for any course that only has one section open, please
be sure and stress to them that the schedule is subject to change. The University
Scheduling Committee said the Spring schedule should be 90%-95% set. We will also talk
with OIT about seeing if it is possible to add some sort of verbiage about this to the
course information.
In the future, should you continue to see any future terms in the course information on
Degree Works, please remember that the further out we are from the future term, the more
likely the schedule is subject to change.
This feature works in the worksheet and also in the plans tab. When you are in the plan,
you can click on any underlined course in the Audit View, Notes View or Calendar View to
get the course information.

Notes View)][cid:image010.png@01D1DC4D.53FC9630][cid:image007.jpg@01D1DC4B.ABABB570]
Also, if you see in the course description above, there are the question marks instead of
quotation marks around C- or better. The Registrar's Office is working on getting that
to look right.
If you have any questions about this, please email
