Dear Academic Advisors, I hope this message finds you well. My name is Brandon Lanners and I have recently assumed the direction of Education Abroad Services for UTSA. It is an honor to fulfill this role and to work with all of you. Indeed, UTSA's international footprint is quickly growing with 526 students sent abroad in 2015-16, which is a 25% increase from 421 students in 2014-15. I have spent the last 17 years at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign so I am quite comfortable in a large, public, and complex institution. The majority of those years was directly focused on supporting academic advisors and improving how study abroad impacted their daily responsibilities. I appreciate sincerely the work you do for our students and campus, and I am dedicated to learning about your goals and challenges and supporting you in your work.
