Subject: COU 3013 Helping Skills - Summer course offering
Importance: High
Hello,
I wanted to share some information with you about a summer course offering in the
Department of Counseling!
We are offering COU 3013 Helping Skills, asynchronously, over the 10 week term.
This course is designed to create an understanding of the helping relationship. Basic
communication/counseling techniques (such as active listening, responding, and
interviewing) for facilitating helping relationship skills are developed.
The course is usually taught only in the fall/spring semesters and is very relevant for
those students who may be interested in pursuing graduate degrees and licensure in the
mental health professions (e.g., counseling, marriage and family therapy, etc).
We want to advertise this course so I ask that you pass the information on to interested
undergraduate students.
Please let me know if you have any questions,
Heather
