Dear UTSA advisors,
I'm writing to let you know about a faculty/staff online event that I will be
conducting next Friday, March 25. The Fulbright Student Program is a fantastic opportunity
for our junior/senior/recently graduated students, and I'm looking to increase the
number of students applying from all disciplines.
Details on next week's workshop are below:
Online Faculty/Staff Workshop: Support for students to apply to the Fulbright Student
Program
The Fulbright Student Program provides opportunities for students to study, research, or
teach English in 150 countries for 8-12 months. Students of all disciplines are welcome to
apply. Students generally start applications 1 year in advance of their travel date - in
early summer for a 1 September submission. This online workshop will orient faculty and
staff on recruiting strategies for Fulbright at UTSA, in hopes to increase the number
applicants in future application cycles.
Topics covered in the workshop include:
* An overview of Fulbright awards available to undergraduates, masters, doctoral
students, and recent graduates.
* A brief history of UTSA's Fulbright recipients by discipline and country of
travel.
* How and when to identify students to apply to the program.
* Advising and student workshops offered by the Office of Nationally Competitive
Awards<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F...;.
* How students in your program might benefit from Fulbright.
This online faculty workshop is offered by the UTSA Office of Nationally Competitive
Awards. Andrew Chapman is the Fulbright Program Advisor for UTSA for the Fulbright Student
Program.
