Honors News:
Interested and available? The virtual UTSA Honors Experiential Learning
Fair<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2...
(ELF) is back! We'd be honored to have you as a judge. The judging is asynchronous, on
your own time, over a week, and no longer than 1.5 hours total, during April 11 - 17. If
you could, please RSVP yes or no by Friday, April 1, by clicking
here<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2...;.
Please share this invitation with other UTSA faculty and staff that might be interested.
We invite anyone who works at UTSA to be a judge, aside from undergraduates who would be
peers.
Honors Opportunities for All UTSA Students:
This summer, the Honors College will travel to Rancho
Margot<https://www.ranchomargot.com/>, where students spend one week at an
off-the-grid farm learning about ecology, sustainability, and mindfulness. This trip is
tied to a fall Honors course, where students put into practice the activities they engaged
in, in Costa Rica with San Antonio community entities (such as local community gardens,
learning about watershed processes at Confluence Park, and much more!). This program is
open to any major, and includes spaces for our first-year students who are just starting
their time at UTSA. The program counts as an Engaged Living experience in the Honors
curriculum. Applications will open soon in the Study Abroad
Portal<https://global.utsa.edu/education-abroad/student-directory/Prog...;.
Highlighted Benefit for Honors College Members:
Priority registration - Honors students (freshmen-senior) have priority registration,
which means they are one of the first groups to register for classes. While we encourage
our students to meet with their Honors
Counselor<https://honors.utsa.edu/academics/counselors.html> to review their Honors
progress, we also encourage them to meet with their Academic Advisors early to discuss the
major/degree classes they need for the upcoming semester. If you, or Honors students, have
questions about Honors courses or the curriculum, please don't hesitate to reach out
to us. You can email their Honors Counselor or the Director of Counseling, Alegra Lozano
(alegra.lozano@utsa.edu<mailto:alegra.lozano@utsa.edu>).
Student Highlight: Mufaro Chitakure, Senior, major in Actuarial Science in the Carlos
