Dear Colleagues,
The State Employee Charitable campaign launched early this
month<https://nam03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%...;,
and UTSA has set a bold goal to reach an institutional goal of $177,000 for 2019. As an
urban serving university, UTSA is committed to supporting San Antonio, and this campaign
is an opportunity to help the under-resourced individuals and families in our community
and to support efforts that enhance quality of life for all of us. We encourage each of
you to participate as you are able!
If you haven’t yet given, please consider doing so on Tuesday, Oct. 15. That’s the day of
our UTSA vs UT Health San Antonio challenge, so your contributions will count toward that
effort. President Eighmy is counting on us Roadrunners to win that challenge this year!
Additionally, as part of UTSA’s overall goal for SECC this year, each VP area has its own
pledge targets. Academic Affairs is the largest division at the university, and we have a
set a high goal: $117,000. We are so proud to share that Academic Affairs staff and
faculty pledged more than $13,000 in the first week of the campaign. That’s a terrific
start, but we have a long way to go to meet our pledge goal. Again, we ask you to consider
making your SECC pledge on Oct 15 to help us reach our goals — and to help us win the UTSA
vs UT Health challenge!
Thank you for your time, and for everything you do for our university and our community.
With warm regards,
Kimberly Andrews Espy, Ph.D.
