Honors News:
We are excited to announce Lyric Pryor will be the newest member of the Honor College
team, as our new Recruitment & Retention Program Manager. Lyric's official first
day in the Honors College will be on Monday, November 20th. She will be working with our
Honors Admissions and Student Life teams.
A welcome from Lyric:
Hello! My name is Lyric Pryor and I am so excited to join the Honors College as a
Recruitment and Retention Program Manager with the Honors College. I am extremely
passionate about human development and the development of college students. This is such a
critical time in their adult lives, to be a part of their journey to success drives the
work that I do!
I am a military brat, who was born in Abilene, Texas (although I only stayed there for a
short time). I have lived all over the United States and overseas in Italy, which was an
amazing experience! I earned my B.S. in Psychology, with a minor in Educational Studies
and Analysis from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I began my graduate journey
by pursuing a Masters in Social Work at UTSA, and began working as a graduate assistant
with what is now Student Success Coaching. I also worked with the Honors College as a
graduate assistant before getting a full time position as the First-Generation and
Transfer Student Program Coordinator. I also did extensive work with Northwest Vista
College for my field practicum experience. Through these experiences, I realized my love
for Higher Education and Student Affairs, leading me to make the decision to stop half-way
through my MSW program and began my M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration!
My areas of interest within higher education are student success, student development,
student involvement, well-being, and community & belonging. I always tell others that
I have quite a boring life, although I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, exploring
San Antonio, and trying all of the amazing food spots in the city!
I so look forward to working with you all and our amazing campus partners!

Honors College?
* Honors College Graduate - students who have completed all Honors curricular
& GPA requirements. This designation is indicated on the diploma and the transcript.
* Honors College Graduate with Distinction - students who have met the Honors
College Graduate eligibility and completed 3 additional Honors electives or experiences +
completion of a capstone requirement. This designation is indicated on the diploma and the
transcript.
* Honors Member - students who did not complete all the curricular requirements to
graduate with Honors but have at UTSA GPA of 3.0 at graduation. This recognition is
designated on the transcript. *If a student does not meet the Honors requirements in the
