Hello All,
Please be aware that HOP Policy 5.13 Posthumous
Degree<https://www.utsa.edu/hop/chapter5/5.13.html> was recently updated. The major
changes are summarized below.
* In addition to qualifying after passing away, students can now qualify if diagnosed
with a terminal illness (must meet the additional criteria).
* Students can now qualify for a posthumous degree if they have completed at least 75%
of the requirements (had to be within 15 hours of graduation previously).
* Students that do not qualify for a degree may qualify to receive an In-Memoriam
Certificate acknowledging their valued membership of the UTSA community (must be in good
academic standing).
Various offices are reviewing past requests to determine if student may be eligible for a
degree or certificate under the new policy, but please feel free to forward any student
cases to GraduationHelpDesk@utsa.edu<mailto:GraduationHelpDesk@utsa.edu>.
