The course provides hands on examples on how to navigate retirement goals and other day-to-day financial needs in an effective manner so as to build wealth and increase long term financial and overall wellness. The course is taught by Michael A. Naquin. Mr. Naquin has over 35 years of broad, diversified, hands-on financial services, consulting, and training & development experience with multiple financial institutions, in multiple states and in multiple roles. Since his retirement from the financial services industry, Mr. Naquin is in his 8th year as a faculty member at the University of Texas at San Antonio, with a dual assignment in the College of Business' Department of Finance and in the Honors College, where he teaches finance courses to undergraduate, graduate and executive MBA students. He holds a B.S. and MBA in Finance from Louisiana State University. FIN 3053. Introduction to Personal Finance. (3-0) 3 Credit Hours. Prerequisite: Completion of Math core component course. This course is an introduction to personal finance, including goal setting, cash management, credit, insurance, taxes, housing, investment alternatives, and retirement plans. This course may not be applied toward a major or a minor in finance.
