As a follow up to inquiries received, please note that students currently admitted to UTSA
who wish to change their major to one of the CoA programs must submit a "Request for
Change of Major and External Transfer Admissions" to CoA Associate Deans Office
[located at UTSA Downtown Campus, Monterrey Building 3.360] for review. This includes fall
14 students who have been admitted into a different major.
The Change of Major Form can be found on the CoA website at
http://architecture.utsa.edu/students/category/policies-forms/.
**Please note, despite the wording on the current form, requests are accepted on a year
round basis with primary consideration taking place annually in June for fall semester
entry.**
Change of Major decisions are made at the Department level, but are tracked through the
College in order to trace the requests and responses as needed. Students who have
submitted a change of major and are waiting on a response should be directed to the
Departments by calling 210.458.3010 for ARC/ IDE and 210.458.3099 for CSM.
Although it is not encouraged, students who applied and were not accepted into the program
can request reconsideration but should do so only after discussing their situation with
the Department Chair to get suggestions on what criteria needs to be met (usually GPA is a
factor).
