Hello all,
Just FYI for anyone (like me) that didn't know: students need to let their advisor
know if they have passing scores for the AP Seminar & Research exams. Since AIS credit
is only granted to students that earn a 3 or better on both exams, the credit has to be
awarded manually. The advisor would email
Suzanne.Stokes@utsa.edu<mailto:Suzanne.Stokes@utsa.edu> to have the AIS 1203 credit
awarded. I've requested that these instructions be added to the AP Credit area of the
catalog<https://catalog.utsa.edu/undergraduate/nationalstandardizedtes...;.
The AP Research exam is normally taken in the student's senior year of high school, so
incoming students likely won't have the Research score until July. If they think they
may pass both the Seminar and Research exams, we should definitely remind them to
follow-up in July because many students end up taking AIS instead of accepting their
credit. Out of the 21 eligible students I reviewed, less than half had their AP credit
awarded (the rest ended up taking AIS during their first year).
