Good Afternoon,
We wanted to let you know that an update to how duplicate credit appears in Degree Works
has been made.
Prior credit for a course will be applied toward a student’s degree requirements even if
they enroll in the course again. In-progress duplicate credit will now be placed in the
insufficient area.
For example, a student earned a grade of C in KIN 3323 in Spring 2019. Even though a C
satisfied the requirements for the student’s major, the credit was moved to the
Insufficient area because the student registered for the course again this fall.

Since credit is awarded for grades of D+/D/D-, a student that needs to repeat a course for
a higher grade (or that is pursuing a grade replacement), will not have their in-progress
course applied to their requirements until the course has actually been completed.
For example, a student earned a grade of D in MAT 1133 in Fall 2019. A grade of C- or
higher is required for the student’s program, the in-progress credit was moved into the
insufficient area until credit is earned.
