Hello all,
There are two known issues with exceptions no longer being enforced in Degree Works. We
have figured out one and are looking in to the other.
As you read this, we are working on rectifying Degree Works records for those affected. We
apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you and the students.
What to do in the meantime:
If you come across a student who had an exception in place but it is no longer being
enforced, you have a couple of options:
1) If the course is a transfer course you can add the appropriate core or AIS code in
SHATRNS. This should correct DW. Additionally, the email I sent the other day about adding
AISW or 030W in SGASADD is still in effect as well. Feel free to still follow those
instructions if you would like. If you do not or if there is some non-usual situation...
2) You can send us an email and we will take care of it. If you go this route please
send an email to DegreeWorks@utsa.edu<mailto:DegreeWorks@utsa.edu> with the
following:
Subject Line: Unenforced Exception <-- Please use this in subject line so we can narrow
in on these quickly
Body of Email: Student Name, Banner ID, course and the requirement the course should count
towards.
Example: Rowdy Roadrunner
@01234567
PSY 1013 for AIS
How do you know if an exception was in place but is no longer being enforced?
Any student that has an exception will have a box at the very bottom of the Degree Works
screen. You will see the exceptions that have been placed on the student's record
(that have not been deleted). There is a column to let you know if that exception is being
enforced or not.
