I am excited to begin my journey as an academic advisor at UTSA. With over a decade of experience working with collegiate students, I enjoy assisting students with academic advancement strategies and helping them adjust to the rigors of college life. I hold dual Master's degrees (Business Education and Health, Physical Education & Recreation) from Emporia State University, and I am currently pursuing a doctorate in Strategic Leadership. In my free time, I assist high school student-athletes and their families with recruiting, and enjoy watching classic TV shows. I completed high school in Eagle Pass, TX, and graduated with my BA in Communication from Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) in Laredo, TX. I also acquired my Masters in Business Administration from TAMIU with a concentration in management. I was an Admissions Counselor at TAMIU for over a year, and I recently moved to San Antonio to begin an exciting new chapter along with my husband and our dog, Leah. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, going to the movies, discovering new restaurants, and traveling. You can also always find me working on creative projects or planning my next trip. I am honored to begin my Roadrunner journey on the Academic Advising team. I grew up in Houston and graduated from Baylor University with a B.A. in International Affairs and French. I received my M.A. from American University (Washington, D.C.) in International Communication. I previously worked at Baylor as an Academic Advisor and as a 4th - 7th grade teacher. I have enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom to two sweet kids and volunteering in the community. My favorite hobby is to travel; hiking in the Rocky Mountains is a favorite.
