SENT TO THE STUDENT AFFAIRS COUNCIL ON BEHALF OF SAM GONZALES
Please encourage staff (and student leaders where applicable) to volunteer for TPE this
week and NASPA17 next week.
In addition to volunteer needs for NASPA17, the Placement Exchange has reached out to us
asking for volunteer assistance. TPE is a very important prelude to the NASPA annual
conference providing an exchange where candidates can interview with universities around
the world. It is a much needed service. They need our help and expertise.
TPE 2017 is being held in San Antonio, TX on March 8-12, 2017.
Please identify staff that are available to provide help in setup, candidate coaching and
mock interviews as scheduling permits. Our student leaders can also sign up for the set
up shifts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Keep in mind that volunteers are still needed at NASPA too. Volunteers are needed on
Monday and Tuesday, March 13-14. Sign up for those shifts here

Event Preparation & Set-Up
We're looking for San Antonio local area volunteers or TPE/NASPA participants who have
arrived early and can assist in a variety of helpful tasks:
* Assembling mailboxes
* Setting clocks
* Filling bags
* Putting together name tags
This is a great opportunity to get to know the TPE Onsite Planning Committee and Interns.
On March 7 at 12 noon, please meet at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center
(900 E Market Street) on the main floor. Thank you for your assistance with these

Time for final touches on event setup! Tasks include:
* Assembling event badges
* Delivering items to event areas
* Organizing the Local Arrangements & Volunteer area
* Greet and direct event participants

Candidates through their job search process and we are asking your help as we prepare for
TPE onsite. Below are the three volunteer opportunities that are available specifically
through Candidate Development for which we feel your experience/expertise will make you a
great fit.
Mock Interviewers - Candidate Bootcamp
Wednesday, March 8, 2017 @ 1:00-4:30pm*
Mock Interviewers help with the Candidate Bootcamp that occurs before TPE officially
begins. There are four 45-minute mock interview sessions that take place during the
Candidate Bootcamp. Each Mock Interviewer will be assigned to two Candidates during each
45-minute session.

Candidate Coaches
March 9-11, 2017 @ 8:00am-6:00pm*
Candidate Coaches work one-on-one with Candidates as they are preparing their job search,
interviews, or transitioning into a position. Coaching occurs on a drop-in basis in the
Candidate Workroom. To sign up as a Candidate Coach please go to the following link:

*Volunteers do not have to be present the entire time. Shifts will be available for
volunteers to sign up for closer to TPE Onsite.
These roles are vital to the success of our candidates while at TPE onsite and we look
