Good morning everyone, As you prepare for the international students appointments next week please make note of the change in the EIS 1083 as the students will need to enroll in a specific section. We will assign students into a particular class. This will be reflected in their EL hold as "Take EIS 1083.1" or "EIS 1083.2". Both classes are at the same time so it should not (hopefully) conflict with the students content courses. If you could disseminate this information to the advisors, I would appreciate it. If you know how I could get this information to the departmental advisors who register students, I would very much appreciate it if you would let me know how to do that. ENG 4613: Topics in Mexican American Literature: Gender and Sexuality in Chican@/Latin@ Literature Cross-listed with MAS 4953, AMS 3443, and WS 4953 TR 2:30-3:45pm, MB 1.124 Prerequisite: Completion of the Core Curriculum requirement in Language, Philosophy, and Culture. Course Description: We will read texts in a variety of genres, such as testimonio, drama, novels, poetry, and critical theory as we trace constructions of gender and sexuality in Chican@ and Latin@ literature of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Our main emphasis will be on understanding how diverse genders and sexualities, particularly lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ...) experiences and cultures, challenge normative ideas in relation to race, nation, class, migration, and desire. Math sections

Good morning everyone, Update from the Math department: ? They are in the process of removing the restrictions on the math courses that have the comment that those sections are for students planning to major in Engineering. Advisors can override those restrictions until they are removed. ? THE capacity in some sections will increase ? UPM 1000 and WRC 1013 standalone sections

All, We have just been given permission to allow students to register for UPM 1000 and a standalone section of WRC 1013 for fall, if they don't want to take the DT sections of AIS/WRC 1013. If a student chooses to take UPM 1000 and WRC in fall, they MUST take the linked AIS 1203 and WRC 1023 in spring. If a student needs to take AIS/1023 in fall, they MUST take UPM 1000 in fall, and MUST take the linked AIS/WRC 1023 in spring. In the SPACMNT, please type: 5.
