Martinez (Financial Aid); Lisa Blazer Subject: Financial Aid & Enrollment Services Remodel & Closures Importance: High Good afternoon everyone, It's with excitement that I announce that Financial Aid and Enrollment Services' front office at the Main Campus will undergo a remodel in an effort to provide better (and more private) services for students. This remodel will commence on Tuesday, September 16 at 8am and will hopefully be completed by October 8. During this time, the Financial Aid and Enrollment Services' Main Campus counter will move just across the hall to JPL 1.01.20. We will have signage posted on Tuesday. To prepare for the demolition of our front counter, the Main Campus location will close at 3pm on Monday, September 15 and our call center will close at 5pm. Services should not be interrupted too much during the renovation. The Registrar's Office at the Main Campus has graciously agreed to print transcripts and verifications of enrollment for students who need one on the spot until our new office storefront reopens in October. Please keep in mind that students can get transcripts through the new transcript request system and verifications of enrollment through ASAP. Should you need to refer students to us, please keep in mind we will have moved across the hall. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me with questions. Thank you. FW: enrollment after the close of late registration

by advising＠lists.sis.utsa.edu

Good afternoon everyone, Please see the policies and information regarding ART and AHC courses. Barbara From: Gregory Elliott Sent: Thursday, September 11, 2014 12:49 PM To: Barbara Smith Subject: enrollment after the close of late registration Barbara - We are having a number of students coming into the office with add forms trying to add primarily core courses in Art. Most of these students have not been attending class and do not have legitimate reasons for adding classes at this late date. Please make all of the advising team aware that I have a fairly high threshold for the approval of an add after late registration closes. I have attached the Departments Policy on Registration and "Adds" that should clarify what I need to approve an add at this late date. Students that have not been attending class at this point can not add classes. In Art we have very intensive introductions to the studio classes that include critical instruction regarding safe working procedures and actual tool use. This type of information is not some thing that can be independently learned nor do the instructors have time to repeat the demos and lectures. In out lecture base classes the instructors also hit it hard at the start of the semester and missing the first 2 class meetings usually means that the student is not able to recover and perform well in the class. If a student has been attending class and was dropped due to late processing of payment or wrong section enrollment, etc. I require that the student submit a written explanation of why they failed to enroll during the registration period. That is reviewed by the instructor and then by me before approval. Please also communicate that the Department of Art and Art History will not approve "Adds" after census day - no exceptions!! Thanks Greg Elliott, Chair Department of Art and Art History/UTSA
