Update on AIS 2913

Hello Advising Community, I'm writing to share information about: AIS 2913 - Advanced Academic Introduction and Strategies. This course will substitute for AIS in the core only for students who are enrolled in the course for Fall 2026. I've confirmed with the Degree Works team that all impacted students already have an exception in their Degree Works for the class to count towards their core curriculum. At the end of the term after final grades post, the course will be tagged with the AIS and 090 code. Undergraduate Studies is still determining if the course will be added to the Core moving forward. Dear Friends of Archer: I write today to invite you to join us on October 27 at 9:00 a.m. for a coffee chat with a representative from the Archer Center. UT San Antonio is working to encourage students from all majors to apply for the Archer Fellowship<https://www.archercenter.org/archer-fellowship-program.html> & we could use your help. UT San Antonio generously funds housing and tuition for students accepted to spend a semester studying and interning in Washington, DC to make this opportunity accessible to students. I would like to extend an invitation to join us for coffee with Archer staff and alumni if you would like to learn more about the program. The faculty/staff coffee will be on , Tuesday 10/27, 9:00 - 10:00 am in the SU Willow Room (SU 2.02.12, next to the Retama auditorium) so that you can drop in as your schedule permits.
