[cid:image001.jpg@01D7AA33.216E74E0] Meet Brandy Barksdale Brandy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from UTSA. She is also currently pursuing her PhD at Liberty University Online. She has worked for The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) for almost 9 years and has over 13 years of experience in education. Her experience at UTSA began as an Administrative Associate in the Philosophy department in February 2013. She joined Academic Advising as an Advisor I with Student Placement Advising (now Exploratory Programs) in 2014 and in September 2017, Brandy was one of two Senior Academic Program Advisors to build the Resilience and Retention Advising Program. In addition to being the 2021-2022 Staff Senate Chair, she is excited to begin her new role as the Associate Director for Academic Advising for our Roadrunner community. As you can imagine, many of our Roadrunners have not found their way around campus yet. There are two ways to help! 1. Ask your team to sign up to volunteer for shifts in the Sombrilla/Central Plaza area Monday – Thursday. The link to sign up on RowdyLink is the email below. We ask that if you are interested, to sign up before Friday, Sept 10 at noon so that we may confirm your role. We will have maps, a tent, and a table ready for each day. 2. Be the champion for your building! Ask your team to watch for lost Roadrunners inside buildings and stage staff outside of offices wherever appropriate to provide assistance. Your team knows your building best. We anticipate peak hours of 7:30 am – 1:00 pm for students trying to find their way. Summer 2021 Degrees are Awarded!!

Since degrees are now posted, we will begin printing and mailing diplomas within the next several weeks. Students will be notified on Monday, September 13, 2021 regarding their final statuses. Tuition rebate for undergraduate students will not be processed until October. He graduated from U.T.S.A with a B.A. in Political Science and is currently working towards an M.B.A. During his time in the Student Placement Advising Center, Chris developed a deep love and passion for mentoring and holistically developing students, as he saw it as an opportunity to help foster the next generation of leaders. He is a native Texan, with roots in the Hill Country and his hometown, Fort Stockton, Texas. Chris enjoys politics and technology, and everything combing the two in the field of civic technology. He works with start-ups in the San Antonio area and has experience in marketing and the financial technology industry.
