Subject: Linked sections of Bio 1414 and WRC 1023
Dear All,
In Fall 2018 we will be offering three linked sections of BIO1414 and WRC1023 (see
attachment). To avoid the issues that happened during Spring registration we have put a
department hold on these sections. Students must come to the Biology Department Office to
register. They will be asked to sign a form that indicates if they drop from one course
we will automatically drop them from the other course. We will be monitoring the
enrollment, and dropping anyone who is not registered in both paired courses. Please do
not do overrides for these courses! Please pass this information along to all advising
staff.
The course is going well this semester, the students seem to approve. All the WRC 1023
content is taught from a Biology perspective. The large report that they put together is
graded for both classes, so they “kill two birds with one stone”. Depending on the
demand we may very well expand to more sections in Spring 2019. Feel free to encourage
the students who need both classes to sign up for these linked sections, and let us know
about the demand.
Best Regards,
Martha
