Re: [Advising] Program Codes for Public Health

I do not understand what this is saying.:
BS-Public Health with a Epidemiology & Disease Control Concentration will now be connected with the College of Liberal & Fine Arts (as opposed to University College)
* Both concentrations will still be advised at the Life & Health Science Advising Center
Who are responsible for the audits? Will they be on my spreadsheet or Life and Health

Subject: [Advising] Program Codes for Public Health
Hello, all -
The Banner Program Codes for Public Health majors have been updated to reflect the concentrations now being connected in their respective colleges, as opposed to the general University College.
* BS-Public Health with a Health Promotions & Behavior Science Concentration will now be connected with the College of Education (as opposed to University College), and the Program Code in Banner is now BS-PUHHPB with Major Code PUH and Concentration Code HPBS
* BS-Public Health with a Epidemiology & Disease Control Concentration will now be connected with the College of Liberal & Fine Arts (as opposed to University College), and the Program Code in Banner is now BS-PUHEPD with Major Code PUH and Concentration Code EPDC
* These changes are effective for all catalogs of Public Health (2012-2014, 2014-2015, and 2015-2016)
* Both concentrations will still be advised at the Life & Health Science Advising Center
* The updated program codes (as well as all LHSC Advising program and major codes) can be found in the I-Drive
* First choose the "Academic Advising" folder
* Then the "Resources" folder
* Then the "Program Major Concentration Codes per Center Folder"
* Then the Excel File "LHSC Codes 9.9.15"
Thanks everyone!

Advising I drive
by advising@lists.sis.utsa.edu
Good morning everyone,
The Academic Advising I: drive was impacted by an encryption virus that locked down many of the files in the folder. OIT is working to restore that folder and once the folder has been restored they will also need to rebuild the permissions on those folders, which will take some time.
This is on OIT high priority list. Updates will be sent as we receive them.

Subject: University College Sophomore Assembly Student Panel Remarks - Advising Accolades
Barbara,
Today we hosted the University College Sophomore Welcome Assembly. At the event we had a student panel of upperclassmen discussing student success strategies and advice for 2nd year students. We had 9 upperclassmen majoring in public health, MDST, sciences (pre-health professions), a student worker from the Writing Center majoring in English, and a few business students (pre-law). All 9 student panelists spoke very highly of academic advising and strongly encouraged/advised the students to meet regularly with their academic advisor (at least once per semester if not more). They all talked about the relationships they have built with their advisors and how critical their academic advisor is to their academic success. I thought you would want to know. Feel free to pass this along..... :)

AAC Email & Suggestion Form
by advising@lists.sis.utsa.edu
Hello Everyone,
Just following up from this morning with the new contact information for the Academic Advising Council.
* Email: AAC(a)utsa.edu<mailto:AAC@utsa.edu>
* Anonymous Suggestion Form: https://mkeneson.wufoo.com/forms/suggestion-form/
The suggestion form forwards information directly to the AAC email. It does not show us who the suggestion is from unless the person provides their email address in the form. See the attached email for an example. We should have more information for everyone about how we plan to increase transparency and improve communication in the next few weeks.

Hello Directors!
Thank you again for allowing us to be part of this morning's meeting. I echo what the athletic staff has expressed when I say thank you so much for everything that you do. We all really appreciate your patience with us especially during our busier times, and how you and your advisors are so accommodating with our requests. As Sara & Colin have mentioned, if there are ever any questions, feel free to call or email any one of us up. We are happy to help in any way we can. Attached is the contact sheet that was passed out this morning in the case some of your advisors did not receive one. Feel free to share with your staff.
Thank you,
