Personal Extension & Voicemail
by advising@lists.sis.utsa.edu
Please be advised that phone extension moves will not be automatic after your physical move. This change may take several days.
In anticipation of this delay, please change your voicemail message (BEFORE you physically move) to reflect your new office name, location, and main phone line. You may want to also include your email, as you will have immediate access to that after your physical move. I know Barbara sent out an email earlier today with a preferred message to put on your out of office reply and for your front desk, but it wouldn't hurt to include a similar message on your own personal voicemail so that students are aware of the situation.
Then you will need to forward your personal extension to voicemail by pressing *24977.
You can check your voicemail from another line until your extension is moved to your new office, instructions are attached.
Thank you,

Re: [Advising] Auto reply email and phone
by advising@lists.sis.utsa.edu
Good morning - I thought we agreed that students would call the STS line first and then be sent to Advising in the MS building if necessary. The way this reads it encourages students to just show up. Did I miss something?

Barbara,
Please forward this to all advisors.
----------------
Dear Academic Advisors,
Per your suggestion made at the all-advisor training on April 22, the following blanket email was sent on May 5 to all UTSA undergraduate students EXCEPT: (1) those who are graduating this Spring 2014 term; (2) those who have applied for Summer graduation:
This email contains important information for UTSA undergraduate students who have not yet completed the core curriculum. If you have completed your core curriculum, you may disregard this message.
The Texas common core curriculum will change for all Texas public institutions of higher education beginning in the Fall, 2014 semester. Students who have not completed UTSA core curriculum requirements, have the option to continue completing the current core or move to the new core, which will require a change of catalog.
If you have questions concerning your core curriculum requirements you should speak with your academic advisor. When speaking with your advisor, please make special note of immediate changes to the Science core requirement, which include a university decision that a student can satisfy their core science requirement with any two approved core science courses.
If you have any questions regarding this message, please let Barbara Smith or me know.
