Sad news
by advising@lists.sis.utsa.edu
I am greatly saddened to announce that our colleague George Bergquist passed away Friday morning at his home in Boerne after his courageous fight with metastatic colon cancer.
We were very fortunate to have George in our team for the past 8 years. He genuinely cared for his students and co-workers and was our 'motivator and cheerleader' during challenging times. He initiated our caroling visits to various offices across campus and wrote the lyrics to 'COEHD Advising is here, to bring you some cheer......" George brought peace and harmony to all who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him.
A graveside service for family and friends will be 11:00 AM at Mission Park South, Wednesday, May 14, 2014. A memorial service will follow that afternoon at 4:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Boerne. To leave condolences for the family, please visit www.ebensberger-fisher.com<http://www.ebensberger-fisher.com> and select the Obituaries tab.
Our Center will be closed Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 to attend the memorial service.

Attached is the list that has been sent to the moving company.
Verify that ALL items that are either leaving or coming to your office(s) are correct.
Verify all room numbers are correct for personnel leaving and coming in.
Make sure all personnel that are moving are included on this list.
Employee moving in-suite will be on the second tab labeled "UTSA Moving." They will not receive crates, but must have USSTS move their computers for them. Please do not move your own computers.
Below are a few reminders that will help the move process go smoother and faster for everyone:
SURPLUS items must be moved to a central location and not house in an office that new staff will be moving into. I know this is not ideal but the movers need the rooms to be cleared in order to move new items in.
Movers will NOT move file cabinets unless they are EMPTY.
Computers must be left ON but LOGGED OFF prior to moving. Leave printers/phones connected as well.
Labels must include the BLDG. abbreviations as well as the room numbers.
I will forward this list through the list serve so all personnel have a copy.

South Central Texas Partners...
...HEADLINE...Severe storms also possible late this afternoon and evening. Flash flood watch from 7 pm through noon Tuesday...
...AREA OF CONCERN...The entire area for severe storms late this afternoon and evening. Then locations along and east of U.S. Highway 83 for heavy rain late tonight into Tuesday morning.
...IMPACTS...The severe storms will have a main threat of damaging winds and a lesser threat of large hail. Rainfall late tonight into early Tuesday will average from 1 to 3 inches east of U.S. Highway 83, with isolated spots receiving up to 5 inches.
...TIMING...The severe threat mainly from 3 pm to 10 pm. The heavy rain threat mainly from 10 pm to 6 am, which could cause significant issues for the Tuesday morning commute.
...CONFIDENCE...High
...DISCUSSION...Moist Gulf air, an upper level trough, and a cold front will combine to produce widespread showers and thunderstorms across the area from late this afternoon through noon Tuesday. Severe storms are possible ahead of the front late this afternoon through late evening. Heavy rain is possible along and behind the front late this evening through Tuesday morning. While massive flooding is not expected, the rainfall may occur in a 2-4 hour period, and cause significant flooding in urban areas and water rises in north-to-south flowing rivers and creeks such as the Frio, Sabinal, and Nueces. Please emphasize with your staff and the public to Turn Around, Don't Drown and not drive anywhere where deep water covers the road. As usual, the rain and flooding will be overnight, when visibility is greatly reduced. The morning commute could be difficult in Austin and treacherous in San Antonio if the forecast rainfall occurs, as low water crossings and low-lying spots may be flooded, and heavy rain still ongoing in San Antonio.
