Degree Works is down
by advising@lists.sis.utsa.edu
Degree Works is currently down due to an as yet undetermined problem. Restarting the DW server, which usually solves such problems, hasn't helped, so OIT is investigating other options. They will be in contact with Ellucian, the DW vendor, if their current efforts don't pan out.

Updating Your Business Phone Number in PeopleSoft
by advising@lists.sis.utsa.edu
I've been notified by Telephone Services that the switchboard is having issues forwarding calls to the correct offices due to the advising move. This is because extensions are still tied to their old front desk extension and not their new front desk extension.
To resolve this issue each Advising Employee needs to change their Business contact number in People Soft. At this time this is something that only the employee themselves have access to change.
Please follow the instructions below on how to change your Business contact number:
Go to utsa.edu
Select myUTSA from the toolbar at the top of the page
Select UTShare/PeopleSoft
Type in The University of Texas at San Antonio and hit continue
Log in using your MyUTSA ID and Passphrase
>From the Employee Self-Service screen select Personal Information Summary
Select Change phone numbers
Update your Business Phone number to reflect either your Dept Main line or your personal extension
Keep in mind this is the extension that will show in the UTSA Directory
Hit Save
Click OK
Verify that the number saved correctly
Log Off
I'm not sure how long it will take for the system to pull the information from PeopleSoft through to the UTSA Directory page. If your number is not updated in the directory after a few days please contact SPOC or submit a ticket detailing your issue. http://utsa.edu/utshare/

FYI
Attached is a PDF version of the UC/FYE and Core Curriculum presentations. The PowerPoint version was too large to send out on the listserv but is posted in the advising blackboard.

Barbara,
A couple of advisors have requested copies of the UC/FYE and Core Curriculum presentations from the Advising Workshop in April. I am thinking that others may want a copy as well so I have attached them to this email. Can you forward these presentations to all in the academic advising community. Thanks.

Ann,
These students should be enrolled in UPM for the fall (place FYE comment in SPACMNT under other category - indicating associate's degree obtained). These students should be treated as eligible for the University College Accelerated Student track? They are still admitted into UTSA through University College and thus must complete the exiting requirements before transitioning to other academic colleges.

Subject: Question about AIS 1203
Tammy:
I have a question regarding students coming into UTSA from Early College High Schools. Most students from such schools come in with an Associate's degree in liberal arts, which means that they are core complete. They are, however, treated like freshmen and need to attend Freshman Orientation.
They would, however, be exempt from taking the AIS 1203 course, would they not?

Good morning,
Here is some information that Dr. Williams provided at the UC staff meeting and some updates from others.
Attached is document with information regarding the Guaranteed Tuition Plan that students have the option of enrolling in. There are still some details being worked out. I'd refer to the website http://utsa.edu/fiscalservices/tuition.html
Also attached is information regarding the UTSA Online Task Force
There has been a new articulation agreement signed with San Jacinto Community College and renewed agreements with Del Mar and TSTC-Harlingen
Reminder: The Petition to Waive Charges for exceeding 30/45 SCH above the Degree Requirements should be for the students remaining terms not every semester
