Degree Works Planner Videos

Hello all! There are currently two videos available for you to view to help with plans. One is a basic step-by-step tutorial that shows how to build a plan and make edits to it. The other is a run through of the different views and what information you can get from each view. Both videos can be accessed on the advisor internal website at the following link: http://www.utsa.edu/advise/internal/Training.html. Reminder: We have an internal advising website. There are quite a few training materials, tutorials and FAQ's on the site regarding DegreeWorks, Global and Banner (among other things). The site is: http://www.utsa.edu/advise/internal. We will be coming out with more videos soon. I will send out another email as new ones become available. Student videos can be accessed at: http://www.utsa.edu/advise/DegreeWorks.html. We re-did the video that was on this site instructing students how to use the planner. We will be making more videos for them as well. Please encourage your students to visit this site! With the big push for creating plans for students, I wanted to let you know that I am available to do refresher training. I can meet with the entire center, a small group or do one-on-one training. Stress Down Day Signups

Hello Everyone, Stress Down Day for the spring semester is approaching fast. This semester the event will be on Tuesday, April 26th from 3-6 PM in the Rec Center. We always like to have at least 2 advisors present for each shift so there is at least 1 person working the Advising table (general questions mostly) and the event Sign-in table. Thank you for everyone who has referred student to Student Support Services! We have received quite a few students who indicated that their advisor or advising boss (student workers) sent them in. We are thankful for these wonderful new students and hope to be able to help each and every one of them to be successful at UTSA. We currently have probably only 14 spots left to fill, as we have 109 students we've been meeting with and we have 17 students we have received applications from in the past week that we are still trying to set up appointments with. We anticipate these 14 spots to be filled soon, so if you have a few students that you know could use a little more support send them in quickly or have them go online and fill out our application that is averaging 6 minutes to complete online at: http://p20.utsa.edu/programs/trio_student_support_services/ And the winner is (with three students that applied): USSTS!
