Hi everyone,
Please consider promoting HIS 4953 Asian History Through Film to interested students. This class is a great option for an upper division free elective in any major, and it has no prerequisites. It meets once a week on Monday evenings. Attached are a syllabus outline and a poster. Anne Hardgrove is a fantastic professor, and has served as a previous chair of the undergraduate committee and graduate advisor of record.
Thanks,
Jackie

Importance: High
Dear Mr. Deviney,
I hope this message finds you well and in the best of spirits. I am writing to let you know that the Institute for Law and Public Affairs is now accepting applications for its Summer Law School Preparation Academy (SLSPA), and we would like to let your advisors and students know about it.
The SLSPA encompasses 12 credit hours of coursework designed to hone the reading and writing skills students need to successfully gain admission to and excel in law school. This curriculum is designed to prepare students for law school and the LSAT (Law School Admissions Test) by emphasizing analytical thinking, critical reading, and quality writing skills. Students who successfully complete the SLSPA receive the UTSA Certificate in Legal Reasoning.
If you know of students interested in going to law school, please, refer them to us. We provide prelaw advice as well and can help them to be better prepared for law school and the application process. Students can find information about us at http://www.utsa.edu/ilpa/, and we can be reached at ILPA(a)utsa.edu<mailto:ILPA@utsa.edu>; Phone: (210) 458 2990.
We do NOT replace the role of an academic advisor.
I am enclosing an electronic flyer about our program. Please, feel free to make copies and post them in your office, and do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions. As always, we truly appreciate your incredible support to the UTSA Summer Law School Academy Program, support that enables us to help our students on their pursuance of their dreams and aspirations and their budding careers. Your constant assistance makes it possible.
Best regards,
Dr. Alvarez

Hello everyone,
In going forward with our new and improved report for students exceeding 30/45 hour Funding Rule after census date 01/27/16, the report was updated as of 02/16/16 email we all receive to reflect 201630.
Here are instructions on how to know when a student has exceeded the funding limit for 30/45 or has granted exemption.
* 1- Texas Residence- within the funding limit- no contract/ no semester plan
* 1- M - exceed 30 hour rule
* 1- E - exceed 45 hour rule
* FSR- granted exemption for residency not to be updated- no contract/ no semester plan
v Search for student name on 30/45 report- the report will include students who have all exceeded the funding limit and students who have been granted an exemption.
v On the "Last Term" tab - code reflect the residency status for spring 2016
v Scroll all the way to your right towards the end of the report.
v On the "New Residency" tab, look for the current code.- after census date
v Go to SGASTDN - verify residence code.
v The residence code in SGASTDN must be in sync with the student beginning term on contract and the beginning semester of courses on semester plan.
Important strategies to remember:
? always look at the most updated 30/45 report after census date.
? SGASTDN will show update for changes in residence.
If anyone has any questions please share.
