COEHD 18th Annual Research Colloquium

Dear College of Education and Human Development Community of Faculty, Staff, and Students,
I invite you to participate in our 18th COEHD Research Colloquium, Artificial Intelligence vs. The Authentic Mind: Challenges, Obstacles, and Opportunities for Academic Learning across the Disciplines.
It will be held on Wednesday, February 25th 2026, in the HEB Ballroom, 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. There is no Registration fee. However, if you are attending do Register so we will know how to set up the Ballroom and the amount of food needed for a great Reception! Participants can register for the event at https://forms.office.com/r/hC8fYUJydm.
You may attend as a Speaker at a Roundtable, Poster, Panel, or Demonstration or as a Listener or Discussant. This is a great opportunity to learn about the latest research in our college and about research occurring throughout the University’s Colleges and Departments.
As we are well into the Semester, faculty and students should discuss possible presentations and submit an Abstract for the Spring Colloquium. Please encourage your students to present their research at this colloquium. Please consider allowing participation in the Colloquium as either a participant or presenter to count as a class assignment.
Benefits to students who present:
* It increases professional credibility. Students can include this Colloquium on their Resume which may help with job pursuits and leadership roles.
* Gather feedback from experts and others to improve the work.
* Provides an opportunity to network and collaborate with other researchers both within and outside their fields.
*
Improves critical thinking and communication skills.
Presentations can be Research—theory, basic, or applied, at any stage of development –planning, ready for submission to another conference, a trial run, or for a journal, research that has been published and would benefit from discussion and future planning of a trajectory of studies. The research does not need to focus on AI. A flyer with more details regarding the submission of proposals is attached. The deadline to submit proposals is January 27, 2026.
We hope that you will plan for this event, now, before the Fall Semester concludes.
I have also attached a flyer for the Journal of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Works that is accepting submissions for the 2025 edition. With gratitude for building research at UTSA, an R1 institution!

18th Annual College of Education and Human Development Research Colloquium

Dear Colleagues,
I invite you to participate in the 18th Annual College of Education and Human Development Research Colloquium at The University of Texas San Antonio on Wednesday, 25th of February 2026.
The theme this year is Artificial Intelligence vs. the Authentic Human Mind: Challenges, Obstacles, and Opportunities for Academic Learning Across Disciplines. The Colloquium will be held at the UTSA Main Campus, HEB Ballroom from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. The Colloquium will include research presentations and posters and a lively Reception for Camaraderie and Celebration with delicious foods.
We invite Faculty, Doctoral, Post-Doctoral, Masters, and Undergraduate Students to submit proposals to present research that address Interdisciplinary and International research. These presentations may be on past, present, and future areas of inquiry, published or to be published. The goal is to share the best research on AI and/or The Authentic Mind and to hold dialogic communication to advance our studies.
We invite you to share this invitation with faculty and students in your Department and others in universities or the community. You are also welcome to attend as a listener and/or discussant. Happy World Teachers Day (10/5)

Good afternoon COEHD,
Please feel free to stop by the COEHD Dean's office (MB 3.304) or OPPP office (MB 3.310) tomorrow, 10/3 or Monday, 10/6 from 9am-4pm to get your blue ribbon pin to wear in honor of World Teachers Day on October 5th.
To celebrate, there are "Teachers Can" blue ribbons tied around trees all around campus and both campuses will be lit blue this Friday-Monday in honor of all our teachers. We appreciate you so much!
