Upcoming Accessibility Requirements – Action Needed for Faculty CVs
by COEHD Communications
Hello COEHD Faculty and Staff,
Per ADA Disability Resources at UT San Antonio outlined on the Compliance 2026 Webpage<https://www.utsa.edu/ada/compliance2026/>:
“Beginning April 2026, all UT San Antonio digital platforms and documents must comply with accessibility standards set by the U.S. Department of Justice.
These ADA Title II Web/Mobile Accessibility requirements<https://utsa.screenstepslive.com/a/1916595-ada-title-ii-web-mobile-access...>, which apply to all public universities, are designed to make it easier for people with disabilities to navigate UT San Antonio’s websites, access resources and use online portals and courses. Ultimately, these changes will help ensure that everyone can fully engage with the university’s digital presence.
This impacts everyone, including all faculty, instructors, TAs, staff, and students. All digital materials, including course content and PDFs, must meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA guidelines by April 24, 2026.”
Resources to Help you Comply:
The university created a variety of resources that can be found here<https://www.utsa.edu/ADA/compliance2026/resources.html> to support this transition, including materials for faculty, staff, social media managers and more.
One major area of focus is PDF documents, including CVs hosted on faculty profiles. To assist in making these documents compliant:
* The UT San Antonio Digital Accessibility team created a Word Document Training (video)<https://utsa.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=0d101eb3-969...>, specifically focused on building an accessible CV.
* A Creating Accessible Word Documents guide sheet<https://new.express.adobe.com/webpage/u29qSRFWh7iaE> is also available to follow along with the training.
* Attached is a flyer listing the upcoming accessibility training sessions that are open to everyone.
As a college, we have set an internal deadline of Friday, January 9, 2026, for faculty CVs to be updated and made accessible on our website. We encourage you to begin updating your documents as soon as possible using the resources provided.
For more information, visit the UT San Antonio ADA Disability website<https://www.utsa.edu/ada/> or contact their team at DigitalAccessibility(a)utsa.edu<mailto:DigitalAccessibility@utsa.edu>.
Thank you,
Katelyn Juarez

Dear Colleagues,
UTSA’s new Adobe access process is now live! This new system offers more flexibility for accessing Adobe products like Express, Acrobat Pro and Creative Cloud. COEHD Student Ambassadors
by Emily Young
Hello Everyone,
I am very excited to announce that the COEHD Student Ambassador program is continuing. We are hoping to expand the program this year and will share more information about at the COEHD Wide Meeting. This program is being run in partnership through the COEHD Student Success Center and Emily Young’s role as the recruiter and event coordinator for the college. The student ambassadors support all the departments in the college and all the degree programs. They will help with recruitment efforts, event management, and can provide support in offices if needed.
We have created an online form that can be used to submit a request for support from ambassadors. Cassie and I will submit a call to the ambassadors to find out who is available to assist with the event and notify you once we have identified the ambassadors who can support you. Here is the link for submitting a request for ambassador support: https://tinyurl.com/yyz57v8h.
We are currently recruiting and training our new cohort of ambassadors. I have attached a flyer for advertising the program with students and a description of the ambassador program. We would like to recruit students from throughout the college to volunteer to become ambassadors. Please share this information with your students and invite them to join the ambassador program.
Please feel free to reach out to Cassie Lopez at Cassandra.lopez(a)utsa.edu<mailto:Cassandra.lopez@utsa.edu> or Emily Young at Emily.young(a)utsa.edu<mailto:Emily.young@utsa.edu> if you have any questions.
