UTS is blocking several applications begin today at 7pm as per the Texas Senate Bill 1893.

BLOCKING PROHIBITED APPLICATIONS – CHG0042873: Blocking of prohibited applications as directed by the office of the Texas government. Change by Cyber Operations (CO) – Samuel Barrera.
* This change is scheduled for Wednesday, July 2nd, starting at 7:00 PM lasting Saturday, July 5th, until 2:00 AM, and its scope is the blocking of prohibited applications as directed by Texas Senate Bill 1893 and Governor Greg Abbott’s executive directives.
* To comply with Texas Senate Bill 1893 and Governor Greg Abbott's executive directives, this change request implements technical controls to block the use of prohibited applications on UTSA devices and networks.
* During this maintenance work, user access to the following application services on UTSA networks and on UTSA computing assets will be prohibited and blocked:
* Alipay
* ByteDance Ltd.
* CamScanner
* DeepSeek
* Kaspersky
* Lemon8
* Moomoo
* QQ Wallet
* RedNote
* SHAREit
* Tencent Holdings Ltd.
* Tiger Brokers
* TikTok
* VMate
* WeBull
* WeChat
* WeChat Pay
* WPS Office
