Colleagues,
As discussed at the Travel Council meeting on November 19, 2013, International SOS has agreed to offer credit monitoring services through CSID for those individuals that may have had personal information exposed in the data breach. As a result of inquiries and discussions on this issue, International SOS agreed to offer this enhanced service to UT Travelers. This is in addition to the identity theft protection that was offered in the notification that went out on October 16, 2013.
It is important to stress that there has not been an expanded or a new breach.
There were only about 400 people who took advantage of the original offer for ID protection. This new offer is being extended to the entire group of UT System travelers (approximately 12,000) who received the original notification. They will have 90 days to take advantage of the new offer. The 400 people who did enroll in the original ID protection will need to enroll in this as well if they want this service.
This enhanced service includes the following:
* Credit Monitoring with the three credit bureaus
* Non-Credit Loans - monitors if a Payday loan has been opened using an element of an individual's identity
* CyberAgent - continuously monitors criminal chat rooms, news groups and other websites where criminals trade stolen identities.
* Social Security Number Trace - monitors and notifies when fraudulent names, aliases and addresses become associated with a customer's SSN
* Change of Address - monitors and reports if an individual's mail has been redirected though the USPS
* Court Records - includes information from county courts, state courts, the Department of Corrections, the Administration of the Courts and other legal agencies that matches your name and date of birth
* Sex Offender Reports - provides alerts and reports to discover and monitor registered sex offenders living in their immediate area, and be notified if a sex offender fraudulently registers in their name
As you may recall, my personal information was potentially exposed in this breach. CSID has provided me a PIN and I have tested the enrollment site and experienced no problems.

Greetings Everyone,
Congratulations on completing the semester, and best wishes on finishing all your grading....
Just a reminder that our COEHD graduation is next Saturday, December 21st in the Alamodome at 10 a.m.,(the procession starts at 9:30, so you'll need to get there an hour or so earlier) and I am encouraging you to attend. I realize that commencement is late this year, and that it's inconvenient for those who plan on traveling over the holidays, but this is an important part of being a faculty member and supporting our students' success. It's easy to forget how excited our students are about this most important milestone....an excerpt from an email I received earlier this week from one of our students is a reminder of this:
My name is ..... . I am a December 2013 graduate of the College of Education at UTSA. My friends and I have been talking about graduation since we started our semester of Approaches classes, and have been planning this day together since then!
Please attend, if at all possible-the Alamodome is a large venue, and it's important to the students and their families that there is a demonstrable show of support from their professors. We have long held the record for faculty participation in commencement, and I'm proud of that record. It certainly catches President Romo's and Provost Frederick's attention each semester, and holds us in good stead when we need their support for our other activities.
As was the case last spring, I will try my best to set aside any discretionary funds that I may have available, to allocate to faculty members who attend commencement, as a "thank you" for your service and as an additional support toward any travel you may still like to do in either the spring or summer semester.
In any event, I send you all my sincerest wishes for a joy-filled and peaceful holiday.

COEHD is collecting DONATIONS through this Friday 12/13/13 for:

The Texas Diaper Bank is the only agency in Bexar County that provides items such as diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, and food for the entire household to low-income families through emergency assistance and education. A simple donation can help strengthen a family in their time of need.
