Colleagues, As part of AERA and at the request of Division J Vice President Ana Martinez Aleman, I am chairing a Social Justice Initiative for AERA Division J (Postsecondary). The initiative is a community-oriented set of activities in the host city that has been under way during the conference for 6 years as part of division activities. This year, divisional members are providing funds to the Parent Academy of UTSA P-20 and also offering four free workshops for the community. In a sense, the workshops are a parallel conference for community members that is put on with AERA scholar resources, but is free to community members. As you can see, we have sessions on Saturday, April 29 and on Monday, May 1 (fliers for each are attached).
