We have benefitted from her incredible mind, her deep commitment to the department and the college, her tenacity in learning the countless numbers of software systems and organizational processes that have been introduced over the years, her determination to find a way through the complexities of the system, and her creativity in seeing both the big picture and the smallest details. She’s been an invaluable resource to so many people in the college—helping them sort out the most complicated issues, calming them down, and ensuring their success, while never saying a word about her mentorship activities (this includes faculty, staff and students as well as work study students in ELPS who have benefited tremendously from her guidance and support). Lisa has a huge heart, an endless capacity for compassion and care, a strong ethical code, and her humor has been absolutely essential to many of us. In short, although the position she vacates will necessarily be filled, Lisa herself can never be replaced—we will always be grateful for the opportunity to work with her, and for the ways in which she advocated for us. Lisa has been an integral member of the college since 2003, serving as a work study, Administrative Associate, Fiscal Specialist with the ELPS Department, and eventually as COEHD BSC Manager. Throughout her time in COEHD, Lisa dedicated herself both to mastering processes and procedures and finding creative solutions to complex problems.
