September 28, 2016
Dear UTSA Professor,
On behalf of Southwest Voter Registration Education Project (SVREP), we request the
opportunity to partner with you to register eligible students to vote. The voter
registration deadline is October 11th.
SVREP is interested in taking 5 to 10 minutes per class to register students eligible to
vote in the classroom.
In 2012, in partnership with UTSA, we registered 7,200 students; in 2014, 2,600 students
were registered to vote; and this spring 2,300 students voted early at the UTSA designated
early vote site.
Mr. Manuel Garza, SVREP Senior Consultant, will contact you to schedule a date and time
that works best for you to register students in your class(es). Mr. Garza conduct the
voter registration efforts in a nonpartisan manner and is working in partnership with UTSA
student body.
We will call your office to confirm a date and time that works best for you before October
11th. Please call me directly on my cell at 210-849-4496<tel:210-849-4496> or
Manuel Garza at 210-246-2328<tel:210-246-2328>. You can reach us at our office
number at 210-922-0225<tel:210-922-0225>.
SVREP is the oldest and largest nonpartisan, nonprofit, organization of its kind. SVREP
has registered 2.6 million voters and trained over 150,000 leaders.
Thank you for the opportunity to register students eligible to vote at in classroom.
Sincerely,
Lydia Camarillo
