Grants for Research Advancement and Transformation (GREAT): This opportunity supports new
areas of research for faculty at UT San Antonio. The primary goal of these awards is to
assemble preliminary data that can be used to seek extramural funding and advance UT San
Antonio��s institutional research excellence goals.
* Anticipated Number of Awards: Four (4) awards up to $20,000 each, subject to
availability of funds.

Internal Research Awards (INTRA): As part of the Office for Research and Innovation��s
coordinated efforts to promote research and scholarship of the highest quality, this
program offers funding for faculty to gather preliminary data to support applications for
extramural funding and enhance scholarly and creative activities.
* Anticipated Number of Awards: Twenty (20) awards up to $5,000 each, subject to
availability of funds.

Transdisciplinary Teams (T2): Sponsored by the Office for Research and Innovation, this
opportunity offers supports UT San Antonio faculty members engaging in scholarly research
activities that foster transdisciplinary collaborations. The primary goal of these awards
is to assemble teams of researchers from different disciplines that will establish a
foundation to seek extramural funding, ultimately advancing UT San Antonio��s research
excellence goals.
* Anticipated Number of Awards: Four (4) up to $25,000 each, subject to availability
of funds.

Connecting through Research Partnerships (CONNECT): The Connecting through Research
Partnerships (Connect) program sponsored by the Office for Research and Innovation at UT
San Antonio and the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), is a grant opportunity offered to
enhance greater scientific collaboration between the two institutions and to increase both
UT San Antonio��s and SwRI��s research-funding base with cross-campus collaborative
programs.
* Anticipated Number of Awards: Two (2) awards of $130k ($50k for UT San Antonio PI;
$80k for SwRI PI), subject to availability of funds.
