The College of Education and Human Development’s (COEHD) Community Family Life Center has been renamed the Sarabia Family Counseling Center after the late Dr. Fermin Sarabia. The center, located on the UTSA Downtown Campus, provides free mental health services to the San Antonio community. Graduate students from the Department of Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching (ILT) are collecting donations for unaccompanied migrant children in San Antonio as part of their service-learning course, C&I 5933. For the last month, the students have been working closely with a local health services organization to provide aid to these migrant children. To continue their efforts, the students are collecting items to donate to the non-profit. These items include: female undergarments, hygiene products, stuffed animals, hair products and accessories, art and craft supplies, and journals. A donation box has been set up in the ILT main office, located in the Main Building room 2.210 until July 8, 2014. All of the items donated are tax deductible.
