Subject: [Coehd] New Staff Announcements
COEHD would like to welcome two new staff members to our team! Tami Richards will be the
new Assistant to the Dean and Frances Sanchez will be COEHD’s Communications and
Development Coordinator. Tami and Frances will be starting their new positions tomorrow,
August 1st.
A huge thank you to Dr. Heather Trepal and Dr. Emily Bonner for leading the hiring
committees for both positions and to the committee members for their vigorous work in the
search!
We’re happy to share a little background on Tami and Frances below:

Tami Richards earned her Master's in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma
in 2020. She has over 20 years of customer service skills which include administrative
assistant and supervisor roles. Before moving to San Antonio, she lived in Hawaii working
as a branch director for the Armed Services YMCA, serving military families.

Frances is a native of El Paso, TX, holds a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University
of Texas at Austin. She began her career in local media covering El Paso news along the
border before moving to Washington DC. There, she worked for CNN DC, covering everything
from the Obama re-election, immigration, Hurricane Sandy, the Sandy Hook and Aurora, CO
theater shootings and more. In 2015, she transitioned to working for a local nonprofit
doing humanitarian work in Palestine and the West Bank before moving to Texas. She
recently did communication work for the Cibolo Center for Conservation in Boerne. She
lives in Boerne with her husband, two dogs and one cat.
