All doctoral students across seven Cohorts, in ILT, were invited to join ILT faculty in dialogues about research. Sayer named “TexTESOLer” of the year ________________________________ Dr. Peter Sayer | Bicultural-Bilingual Studies Texas Association of Teachers to Speakers of Other Languages (TexTESOL) Dr. Peter Sayer, ESL faculty in the Department of Bicultural-Bilingual Studies, will be recognized as the “TexTESOLer” of the year by the Region II Texas Association of Teachers to Speakers of Other Languages (TexTESOL). This award will be given at the TexTESOL state conference in October in San Antonio. BBL doctoral student receives grant from TIRF ________________________________ Virak Chan | Bicultural-Bilingual Studies The International Research Foundation for English Language Education Virak Chan, PhD student in Culture, Literacy & Language, was awarded the 2015 Doctoral Dissertation Grant by The International Research Foundation for English Language Education (TIRF) to support his research on language policy in higher education in Cambodia. Interestingly, thinning of the outermost layer of brain cells in the cerebrum is associated with better math skills, according to the researchers.
