So…how’s that social media marketing plan going? Are your prospective students engaged yet? If the goal of your school’s social media plan is to generate engagement from prospective students, then you’re going for page “likes” or “follows.” Once they’ve liked your page, your content—be it news, event coverage, videos, pictures or blogs—will show up in their feed, and depending on how they engage with your social media property, your information will show up organically in their friends’ feeds (even the ones who haven’t liked your page).

FW: Critical Questions in Education Conference
by Christine Moseley
From: Jones, Steven P [mailto:SPJones@MissouriState.edu]
Sent: Friday, September 18, 2015 8:41 AM
Subject: Critical Questions in Education Conference
San Antonio deadline EXTENDED / New book: Blame Teachers
Greetings:
We send this message for two reasons:
* People have been asking for more time to prepare a proposal for the Critical Questions in Education Conference to be held March 7-9, 2016, in San Antonio, Texas. We have extended the deadline until October 5th. This year we have three theme questions-about teaching in the academic disciplines, about reading serious books, and about what schools can and should be doing in response to racially charged incidents in our country. In addition, we have an Open Topic category at this national, blind peer-reviewed conference. See the attached Call for Proposals for details.
* We also send this message to announce a new Academy book that might interest you and your students: Blame Teachers: The Emotional Reasons for Educational Reform. This brand new book summarizes why we blame teachers for what is taken to be the poor state of our schools, then thinks through the strange assumptions about teaching, teaching effectiveness, and the purposes of education that come when the resentment of teachers is at the heart of educational reform. A good supplemental text for teacher education students and graduate students in foundations, curriculum and instruction, and educational administration. See the attached flyer and ordering sheet.
We hope to see you at the conference, and we hope you enjoy the book. If you have any questions about the Academy for Educational Studies, the conference, or the book, please call the number (below) or send a return email.
Sincerely,
Steven P. Jones, Director
