Thousands watched the documentary throughout the US. Social media was on “fired”. Leaders called, or sent us a note congratulating us for Willie’s legacy and let us know how much the work is still needed—that we mobilize Latinos especially in this election cycle.
Worldwide PBS will air three-times and US PBS is scheduled to air six times.
PBS, Latino Public Broadcasting, local public stations and community partners will host the screening of the Willie Documentary in a number of cities across the United States. Share with your friends and family the exciting news. Schedule family time to watch the Willie Velásquez Documentary on PBS. You can still watch the documentary. Check your public station for the listing to watch Willie’ documentary this week and weekend with your friends and family.
William C. Velásquez changed the face of Texas and the nation with his efforts to empower the Latino community through their vote. Willie registered Latino voters and changed systemic barriers that blocked and diluted the Latino vote. Today because of Willie’s work through SVREP the Latino Vote is an important voting bloc in American politics.
Share with your friends and family the exciting news. Schedule family time to watch the Willie Velásquez Documentary on PBS on Monday, October 3, 2016.

Dear colleagues,
BESO and MASO are joining forces with the Southwest Voter Registration, to encourage students to register to vote. In an attempt to do so we will be showing the “Willie Velasquez’ Your voter is your vote documentary film” at MB 0.106 at 6pm. Because the last day register is Oct. 11th there is a sense of urgency. Tomorrow we will have the great honor of having Mrs. Jane Velasquez (Willie’s widow), and Dr. Ellen Riojas Clark in a panel that is scheduled right after the film is shown.
I hope you can support this cause. I know it is very last minute. But as you all know, these elections are critical for all of us.
Thank you and I hope to count on your support!
Saludos,
Dr. Machado-Casas, Dr. Sonya Aleman, and Dr. Marco Cervantes
