In addition to the UTSA President’s Distinguished Achievement Awards (PDAA), the Vice Provost's Office manages the President’s Distinguished Diversity Awards (PDDA), the latter of which are open to faculty/staff and students. Nominations for Diversity awards do not filter through the colleges but can be sent directly to DiversityAwards(a)utsa.edu<mailto:DiversityAwards@utsa.edu> (for faculty and staff) or via RowdyLink (for students). Please consider whether you have faculty and staff colleagues or outstanding students who are worthy nominees for the award. Short notice for Texas Social Studies Supervisor’s Association Scholarship-Deadline Approaching<http://education.utsa.edu/awards_announcements/article/short_notice_for_t...>
The Ann Rogers scholarship is funded by the Texas Social Studies Supervisors Association, a non-profit, Tax-exempt entity chartered under the laws of the State of Texas. The scholarship was created to provide scholarship funds for student teachers completing his/her student teaching in social studies in the state of Texas. This $1000.00 scholarship will be paid directly to the student teacher after official proof of registration is shown.
Ann Rogers was the Director of Social Studies for the Texas Education Agency for ten years. She spent her years in that position championing the needs of social studies teachers across the state of Texas. She has encouraged and enabled the excellence of social studies instruction in the state of Texas and has guided the writing and implementation of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. This scholarship was created to honor Ann Rogers and her vision in the teaching of social studies in Texas.

We added one more bus for the MLK march. Please sign up before the seats run out!
Please join the UTSA Contingent, open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and their families as we march in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the citywide march. The City of San Antonio has sponsored this march on the eastside of the city down MLK Drive since 1987. It is now one of the country's largest marches calling for peace and equity in the country on this day of honor with over 300,000 participants annually. The 2017 Theme for the MLK march and celebration in Pittman park is: King's legacy for peace is justice for all. Remember! Celebrate! Act!

We hope you have had a and enjoyable, yet relaxing, time off during the holidays! I have attached an interactive "Faculty Information Form". Please take a few minutes to fill out the FIF and forward the document (the attachment will drop off if you select reply) back to John McGee.
Please be sure to fill out the form in its entirety and select whether or not a shared office space and/or a mailbox will be required for the Spring Semester. As a reminder regarding the mailbox, you may either have a mailbox at the Main Campus or the Downtown Campus, but not at both locations.
After receiving your information, I will send you a "Shared Office Information" form advising you of your shared office location, semester copy code, and other helpful information.
Remember, the sooner you submit your request, the more likely you are to have access to space on the days and times requested.
Even if you are Downtown for the Fall semester and currently using a shared office space, you still need to "resubmit" your request for the Spring semester.

It is with pleasure that I write to invite you to our Seventh Annual COLLEGE RESEARCH ROUND TABLES, in ILT, to be held Thursday, February 22nd 2018 at 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Please mark your calendar
and Spring Semester Course Schedules for 2018.
This event has been held in the Department of Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching for Doctoral Students over several years to learn about the research faculty are conducting.
This is an opportunity for Faculty to present Research-- in past,
present, and future areas of inquiry-- that are published or to be published.
Doctoral students may present with Faculty across units of the College
and University,and may share trajectories that may lead to Dissertations, Theses or Publications.
Faculty will have an opportunity to learn about other Faculty Scholarly Research, as well.
This event is part of our effort in the College of Education and Human Development
to increase research dialogues and creative thinking about research that grows our
research visibility locally, nationally, and internationally. Further information will
follow with location and innovative format, beyond the past formats. This
note is to encourage early planning and give you heads-up on this exciting event.
You may wish to share this with doctoral students, cohorts, and masters students who
have participated or will participate in research. We are grateful to the Dean for providing
