[Staff performance evaluations]<https://nam03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.uts...>
Dear Roadrunner Staff,
For the past several months Human Resources, in partnership with senior leadership, has worked to revise our performance evaluation process for staff.
The changes will bring many welcome improvements. Notably, the entire process will be moved online and have a built-in workflow, making it much easier for employees and supervisors to complete, share and submit their evaluations. In addition, revisions to the performance evaluation form itself will make it a more effective tool for meaningful conversations around employee performance.
As part of this initiative, we are shifting the performance review period to mirror our fiscal year (September 1 - August 31), resulting in better alignment with our budgetary process.
For this transition year, we will extend the current performance review period through August 31, 2020. Therefore, this year's performance evaluations will cover the period February 1, 2019 - August 31, 2020, and the forms will be due to Human Resources on October 1, 2020. We strongly encourage supervisors to continue meeting with employees regarding their performance over this extended period.
The possibility of merit raises will be assessed every year contingent on budget availability. Under this new timeframe, any merit raises will become effective on January 1.
There will be more information and engagement to come on these exciting changes in the near future. In the meanwhile, please feel free to reach out to our interim assistant vice president for human resources Denise Moore<https://nam03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.uts...> with any questions you may have. Thank you for all you do for UTSA!
Sincerely,
[Sylvia Enriquez signature]

Dear Roadrunner Colleagues,
Back in December we shared with you the exciting news about the new unified telecommunications and collaboration tools that UTS (formerly OIT) is deploying to the university. The CNCT tools (pronounced "connect," which stands for COMMUNICATIONS, NETWORKING, COLLABORATION, TECHNOLOGIES) will enhance the user experience by allowing UTSA employees to collaborate more effectively anywhere, on any mobile device, using phone, video, instant messaging, and web conferencing.
WHERE TO START: To facilitate the deployment and to ensure a smooth transition, we have asked all employees who currently have an office phone or telecommute from off-campus to complete a required user discovery form. The information we collect is crucial to our ability to successfully launch the CNCT solution; therefore, your input is vital. If you have not already done so, please complete the user discovery form by clicking here<https://nam03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Futsa.az...>. (If you have already completed the form, please disregard this step.)
WHEN: We will deploy the CNCT tools building by building. The following table shows the tentative deployment schedule. Prior to your deployment date, we will send email communications detailing how to prepare and what to expect.
SUPPORT QUESTIONS: If you have any questions about the CNCT project or deployment, please feel free to contact tech support at the Tech Café (210.458.5555, techcafe(a)utsa.edu<mailto:techcafe@utsa.edu>), or visit the Tech Café on the Paseo (HEB Student Union, Room 2.214A).
