It is with mixed emotions to share the news that our COEHD Director of Graduate Student Services, Chris Kibbe, has accepted a position with UTSA’s Strategic Enrollment Office as their new Director of Graduate Recruitment. He will be transitioning into his new role September 12th.
While this is a sizable loss, his appointment is fully reflective of the quality and potential of personnel we are fortunate to have in our college. Since his arrival in 2005 as a COEHD Student Development Specialist, Chris has dedicated himself to serving our graduate student community and programs to the highest standard. I am confident he will be a tremendous asset in his new role and will continue making a difference in the lives of our students.
It has been a pleasure working with Chris during my tenure and I wish him all the best. He will be missed.

REDKE has notified us of three fellowship/scholarship opportunities, which are eligible for application development support. I have also included information about another two US Department of Education IES Research Network grant competitions that will be released at the end of September and in October. A Fund for Improvement of Post-Secondary Education (FIPSE) grant competition is active as well as the Spencer Foundation Conference Grants program. The Spencer Foundation Research Practice Partnerships grants program will be available in September.
Fulbright U.S. Scholars (Core Program)
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offers over 800 awards in more than 135 countries for U.S. citizens to teach, conduct research and carry out professional projects around the world. ACLS invites research proposals from scholars in all disciplines of the humanities and related social sciences. Through the National Center for Education Research (NCER), the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) provides support for programs of research in areas of demonstrated national need. Through the Research Networks Focused on Critical Problems of Education Policy and Practice grant program, NCER focuses resources and attention on specific education problems or issues that are a high priority for the Nation.
