The African American Studies program is proud of having Dr. Ramona Pittman as our Visiting
Research Scholar for the Spring 2018 Semester. Dr. Ramona T. Pittman is an associate
professor in the Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation at the Texas A&M
University at San Antonio. Her research interests include: literacy development,
spelling, preservice teachers' literacy knowledge, and literacy outcomes for African
American students.
Next week, we'll have Dr. Ramona Pittman on UTSA campus to present: Why Do
"They" Talk like That: The Roots of African American English and how It Affects
Students' Reading, Writing, and Speaking Abilities. Please share this event
