Dear Colleagues:
We wanted to bring to your attention a development opportunity for faculty to become an
ACUE Teaching Fellow. The opportunity was announced this past week in an email from the
Provost, The Next 50 Years Starts Now

and is open to all faculty and free for the faculty member and the department; the
opportunity is being funded by Academic Affairs and UT System. Highlights of the program
are:
* Program begins March 30 and has 25 online modules. Time commitment per week is
approximately 3 hours and anticipated completion date is November 30, 2020.
* Faculty who complete the course will receive a $1,000 stipend and earn the
designation of 'ACUE Teaching Fellow' for UTSA
* Participants will complete the modules online working with a cohort of other UTSA
faculty and guided by our UTSA Facilitator, Dr. Shelley Howell from Teaching Learning. For

* Applications must be submitted as a single PD to
FacultySuccess@utsa.edu<mailto:FacultySuccess@utsa.edu> by February 15, 2020 and
participants will be notified by March 1, 2020. Application to include Cover letter (no
more than one page) on how faculty participation would impact their teaching and their
students' learning and success, how participation would impact the UTSA community, a
description of teaching experience, CV and letter of support from Department Chair or
Direct Supervisor
* Open to all faculty, with up to 32 faculty participants, with priority given to:
* Full-time tenure-track faculty who have completed their third-year review
* Full-time non-tenure-track faculty
* Faculty who teach UTSA core courses
