UTSA to celebrate 20th anniversary of the Downtown

The University of Texas at San Antonio will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Downtown
Campus with a special celebration on Monday, November 13 beginning at 3 pm. The
celebration will include panel discussions, including a panel on the future of the
Downtown Campus facilitated by COEHD Dean Dr. Margo DelliCarpini, and a keynote address by
Julian Castro, former mayor of San Antonio. The evening will conclude with a
community-wide celebration on the Bill Miller Plaza. For more information, visit

GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP FOR Education and
Curriculum<http://education.utsa.edu/awards_announcements/article/grad...
We are looking for a graduate student for graduate assistantship working with Dean's
office in the College of Education and Human Development. The graduate assistantship will
be for 10 - 19 hours per week beginning November 2017. Extension of the position to Spring
2018 is possible, contingent on funding.
Description of Job Duties
Work with team of faculty and administrators to explore program and policy options
associated with innovative EC-12 education in Texas. Experience with library searches,
finding and reviewing educational policy documents, and writing briefs is preferred.
Additional preferred qualifications include good interpersonal and organizational skills;
responsible, flexible and able to maintain a professional attitude.
Qualifications
Applicants must be current graduate students in the College of Education and Human
Development. Candidates must maintain enrollment in at least six hours of graduate course
during the full period of the assistantship. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in
graduate work, or if entering the program, a 3.0 GPA in the last 60 hours of undergraduate
work. Successful experience in working with students in a helping relationship is
desirable; experience in use of computers is required. Preference will be given to
students who plan on graduating in Spring 2018 or later.
Salary
Candidates may be paid $11.99/ hour.

Downtown Campus - Pedestrian and Shuttle Service Routes from VIA bus stops to
DTC<http://education.utsa.edu/awards_announcements/article/downtown_ca...
VIA bus detours, scheduled to begin on October 15, 2017, have temporarily relocated
several bus stops from the Downtown Campus to other locations nearby. To assist our campus
community in safely navigating these areas, the attached map provides suggested pedestrian
routes to and from the temporary bus stops located at Milam Park and at the S. Santa Rosa
and W. Nueva intersection.
In addition, Campus Services will offer temporary shuttle service between the Downtown
Campus and nearby alternate bus stops. This route will take approximately 15-20 minutes.
Please refer to the attached shuttle service map.
UTSA Police will provide additional patrols around these temporary bus stops and the
campus during this time.

screens. Common Sense Media, a nonprofit organization, just released new numbers on media
