[Coehd] Barshop Institute seeking small/pilot grant proposals from faculty conducting aging research

The San Antonio Nathan Shock Center and the Barshop Institute at UT Health San Antonio are seeking small/pilot grant proposals from faculty conducting aging research. Funds are available for research on basic biological gerontology. The announcement is attached for your review/reference. Proposal Deadline: 5pm, February 15 (Friday) There are 2 Pilot Grant Programs available: • Basic Aging Pilot Grants (for tenure-track, assistant professors within 4 years of their appointment) • Transformative Award in Basic Aging Pilot Grants (for all faculty, whether tenure or tenure-track) – looking for conceptual ideas in basic aging research that could transform the field There are 2 specific Areas of Interest* noted: • Research with a specific translational impact • Research at the aging/cancer interface *It is not required that Basic Aging Pilot Grants align with one of these; however, if an application is relevant, this should be indicated on the application.
