30 June 2021
Dear COEHD Researchers—Faculty, Ph.D., M.A. Graduate Students, and School-based Leadership
and Instructors,
On behalf of SIG 11 Research in Reading and Literacy and our Consortia Members
(International Consortium, College Reading Consortium, ESL Consortium),
we invite you to submit a proposal to the forthcoming AERA Conference in San Diego, APRIL
22-25, 2022.
The Deadline for submitting a proposal for the AERA Conference is MONDAY, JULY 12, 2021.
We welcome Symposia, Paper Sessions, Roundtables, and Posters that represent your
research, reviews of past research, calls for new research needed in a given field of
study, dialogues, debates, discussions of pressing issues in educational and literacy
research. We welcome innovative, cross-disciplinary inquiry, historical reviews, and
theoretical and applied studies.
Cultivating Equitable Education Systems for the 21st Century is the theme, although your
proposal need not focus on this theme.
Please review further information forwarded to membership of AERA (below).
We take this opportunity to remind you to renew your AERA membership and membership to the
SIG as the number of slots we are provided depends on numbers of members.
We wish you a summer of health, rejuvenation and productive scholarship and look forward
to greeting you in San Diego in 2022!
I appreciate all you do for advancing learning!
With very best wishes,
Rosalind Horowitz

Don’t Miss Out—Submissions for the AERA 2022 Annual Meeting Due July 12
The deadline for submissions for the 2022 AERA Annual Meeting is quickly approaching! We
encourage you to complete your paper and session submissions as soon as possible. The
meeting will be held in person in San Diego, CA, Friday, April 22–Monday, April 25.
We hope that the 2022 Annual Meeting—“Cultivating Equitable Education Systems for the 21st
Century<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F...
a must-attend on your calendar. We are thrilled that our return to the in-person Annual
Meeting is in such a beautiful and culturally diverse city that will provide prime
opportunities to connect and engage with colleagues new and old. The meeting will be a
chance to present your work on the largest stage in the world for education researchers
and to stimulate your thinking and scholarship.
We are seeking wide participation across the field of education research and across
aligned fields and disciplines. Submissions to a division, special interest group (SIG),

If you have not already done so, log in now to either start the process of advancing a
paper or session submission or finalize your work. After you log
in<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fae...;,
